What a wonderful evening we had yesterday at British Council !!
My book "Swimming Against the Tide" was launched at British Council by my dear friend British Dy High Commissioner Oliver.
In her opening remarks, Janaka, a very good friend of mine, British Council Director, expressed her happiness at starting the very first physical event by launching my book at their premises after the spread of the dreadful pandemic. I am very grateful to Janaka and her team for organizing the event in such a friendly way. I felt like meeting my family members after a long time.
Manisha Mathews, AVP-Commissioning from SAGE, explained in a beautiful manner how honesty, simplicity and strong content made them select my book to publish. So nice of Manisha and SAGE team for publishing my book in my maiden attempt itself. After releasing my book Oliver shared his feedback on my book quoting a few examples from the book and how my determination to overcome the challenges impressed him.
Next came fireside chat with Swarnamalya, founder director of Ranga Mandira School of Performing Arts. She asked very meaningful questions and brought out the salient features of my book. It was a very lively conversation. Audience in person and who joined virtually also posted a few questions.
Being a voracious reader in my childhood and teenage, sometimes I wanted to see my favourite characters in those books in reality. Today I shared my extreme happiness with the audience for seeing myself joining the authors club and to see many of the nice characters in my book in that event in person.
Event was closed with nice pics, autographs, friendly conversations with friends and delicious refreshments😍😍😍😍😍
