Receiving #recognition and #appreciation from a reputable organization like "The Hindu" is an honor that I will cherish forever. From the beginning of my journey in promoting sports for people with disabilities, The Hindu has been a strong supporter, covering all of my milestones and achievements along with those of like-minded individuals, in an effort to promote inclusion and empowerment for people with disabilities.
Yesterday, I was humbled to receive "The Hindu Achievement in Surpassing Disability" award at an amazing event, where I had the opportunity to share the stage with eminent women achievers from various fields. It was a great feeling to share this honor with my friends Saundarya Rajesh and Ranjini Manian who have contributed to the work we have been doing.
Prior to the event, I received a thoughtful call from The Hindu Group team, who inquired about my accommodation needs. This nice gesture is something that everyone should follow, and I was pleased to see that they had arranged a ramp to the stage.
The event was graced by Ms. Supriya Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of Environment, Climate Change and Forests, as the Chief Guest. I have always admired her passion and commitment towards climate change.
Additionally, I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Ms. V Vasanti Devi, a well-respected educationist and academic, who was honored with a lifetime achievement award at the event. Thank you so much Sudha Ramalingam Madam & Akila Ramalingam for introducing me to her.
Overall, receiving recognition from The Hindu is a moment I will always treasure, and I am grateful for their continued support in promoting inclusion and empowerment for people with disabilities.
Thank you so much Ramya Kannan and all other jury members for this recognition!
